Options for management of kiosk devices

Customers have two options for device management:

  1. You own and manage your own device(s)
  2. HealthSafe MDM Service : You own and manage your own device(s) with the support of HealthSafe’s Mobile Device Management service.

We offer these options to maximise customer choice on how to manage their devices. 


Our MDM service is a cost-effective way for you to set-up and consistently manage your SecurePass kiosk devices - as most of the configuration work is done for you by HealthSafe.

Overview of the options 

Manage your own device(s)

When you managing your own devices, customers:

✓ Buy and own the devices, are responsible for device repair, maintenance and lifecycle management.

✓ Create and manage any required accounts (e.g. AppleID, Google account) needed to use the device.

✓ Sets up (configures) the device settings and required applications (HealthSafe provides Knowledge Base content to help you do this.)

✓ Does the physical installation of the devices.

✓ Install updates to device applications and operating system (and enables / disables kiosk mode ‘lock’ and ‘unlock’ as required following updates).

Manage your own device(s) with the support of HealthSafe’s Mobile Device Management service

Using the MDM Service, Customers:

✓ Buy devices from HealthSafe.

✓ Own the devices and are responsible for their repair, maintenance and lifecycle management.

✓ Supports the routine updates of the devices when deployed by HealthSafe (e.g. re-applying kiosk mode following an operating system update to the device).


For Customers using the MDM Service, HealthSafe:

✓ Sets-up (configures) the devices for the Customer ready for easy initial install and use.

✓ Devices are enrolled into HealthSafe’s Hexnode MDM solution and the device configuration is applied.

✓ Device operating system and applications / configuration are updated by HealthSafe (note the are some onsite steps that the customer needs to complete). 

✓ Provides device information summaries to help you manage device lifecycle.

Devices

What devices do you recommend for SecurePass kiosks?

Healthsafe recommends iPad and selected Android devices. Further information can be found here.

Can I rent a device from you?

We don’t currently offer device rental.


SecurePass supports a wide range of devices meaning you have a good choice of options including different device cost/quality, operating systems and device size.

Can I buy devices / asset packages from you

Yes. Our sales team can work with you to identify the best options for you.

Device updates

If I use MDM, how often will my devices be update

For MDM Standard, devices are normally updated quarterly.


For MDM Enterprise, we can tailor update frequency based on 

your support needs.

When you remotely update my device, is there anything I need to do?

Depending on the update, you may simply need to re-enable 'Kiosk Mode' once the device restarts.

Can I choose when you update my device?

Yes.


For MDM Standard, we will offer you some date/time options from which you can choose.


For MDM Enterprise, we can tailor your update timings and approach to your support needs.

Technology partners

We have an integrator. Can they supply HealthSafe and / or be involved in managing our devices 

Yes, we support customers:
1. buying SecurePass via their integrator

2. using integrators for support of SecurePass.
