Completing a site induction is a vital step in maintaining a safe work environment for all employees. Inductions can be delivered in various formats, but they must be completed before anyone is permitted to sign onto site as a Contractor Employee
Requirements before a Contractor Employee can complete a Induction.
Note: Before a contractor employee can complete an induction for a SecurePass site, they must first be added to their contractor business profile as an employee.
For step-by-step instructions on how to add employees to a contractor business, please refer to this help centre article. - Note this can only be done by a Contractor Business Admin or System Admin not an Employee.
If this has not been done, the employee will not be able to register themselves on the Contractor Management Application. In order to register on the SecurePass for Contractors, employees need to have a Mobile Number as well.
Note: This feature is only available to SecurePass Clients that have purchased the full Contractor Management package not just Visitor Management. If you are interested in this feature, please reach out via this link.
Induction Completion Methods
There are several ways a Contractor Employee can complete SecurePass inductions prior to signing onto site. However, the availability of these options will depend on how the specific SecurePass site has been configured in the backend.
Not all methods will be available for every site, so it’s important to follow the instructions provided and use the options visible to you during the process
The methods available are as followed.
- Completing Induction via the SecurePass for Contractor Application.
- SMS Induction
- Email Induction
- On-Site Kiosk Induction.
Recommended Induction Method: SecurePass for Contractor App
We strongly recommend that all Contractor Employees complete their induction using the SecurePass for Contractor mobile application.

How to complete a SecurePass Induction via the SecurePass for Contractor Application
1. Download the SecurePass for Contractor Application and Register.
Once a Contractor Employee has been successfully added into their respected business they will be able to download and register themselves on the SecurePass for Contractor Application.
- This will be a requirement if Contractors are to sign onto Site via the SecurePass for Contractor application.

Note : If a Contractor Employees has been approved by a system admin. The Employee may receive the following sms notification.
Note: It is the responsibility of the Contractor Business Admin to ensure that their Employees have downloaded the Contractor Application before they attempt to sign on to a SecurePass site.
2. Complete a SecurePass Contractor Induction on the Mobile App.
- Completing Client Induction Requirements
After successfully registering as a contractor, you must complete the client's induction requirements before you will be permitted to sign in at any of the client’s sites.
To begin the induction process, please follow these steps.

Open the SecurePass for Contractors Application

Click the ‘Inductions’ button on your dashboard.

This will display a list of site(s) where induction is required.

Select the relevant site to proceed with the induction steps

Once you have selected the site for which you need to complete an induction, you will see a summary of relevant induction information provided by the client.
At the bottom of the screen, you will notice a red button (or buttons) labeled with file types such as Video or PDF. The number and type of files may vary depending on the client—some may provide only one format, while others may include multiple.
Important: You must view all red-highlighted file types before you can proceed to the Next Step.
After viewing the required materials:
Tick the checkbox next to "I Acknowledge and Agree" to confirm you’ve reviewed the content.
Tap "Next" to move on to the next screen in the induction process.
3. After viewing the Induction Material. Correctly answer Induction related Questions
Most inductions will include a series of multiple-choice questions based on the induction materials you have viewed. These questions will appear after you have completed viewing all required files and selected the ‘Next’ button.
Please note: You must answer all questions correctly to successfully complete the induction.
The pass rate is set by each client, but in most cases, a 100% score is required.
Be sure to carefully review all induction materials (videos, PDFs, etc.) before proceeding to the questions

4. Induction Success Message
On successful completion the pop-up shown in the example below will appear and you will now be able to sign in to the selected client's site. You will need to repeat the process for any additional client sites that you will be going to.

Depending on if you were successful with your Induction Answers. You will be presented with the "Offsite Induction has been completed with Success" message.
If you were unsuccessful. You will be presented with the "You did not Pass" message and be required to view the induction information again.

Site Removal After Completion:
Once you have successfully completed the induction for a specific SecurePass location, that site will no longer appear in your induction list on the Application -
Site-Specific & Time-Limited:
All inductions within SecurePass are site-specific and are valid for 12 months from the date of completion. -
Renewal Window:
You will be able to renew your induction one month prior to its expiration date. -
Multiple Sites Within the Same Organisation:
Even if two sites belong to the same organisation and use identical induction content, you are still required to complete a separate induction for each site.
Each induction will have its own unique expiry date
SMS Induction - ONLY IF TURNED ON

SMS Induction is an alternatively method to complete an Induction. You will only receive one SMS induction link for a single site, so if you are doing work on a site that has multiple SecurePass locations. You will have to manually induct yourself onto those additional sites via the Contractor Application.
SMS Induction is a feature that is not turned on by default in the backend. SMS notifications will automatically be sent out to your registered Mobile Number. ON or BEFORE your Induction expiry date.

Email Induction - ONLY IF TURNED ON.

Email Induction is an alternatively method to complete an Induction. You will only receive one EMAIL induction link for a single site, so if you are doing work on a site that has multiple SecurePass locations. You will have to manually induct yourself onto those additional sites via the Contractor Application.
EMAIL Induction is a feature that is not turned on by default in the backend, and may not be Email Inductions will only be sent if an Email Address is added to an Employees profiles, ON or BEFORE your Induction expiry date.
Notes on SMS AND EMAIL Induction.
- In regards to both SMS and Email Inductions, they JUST serve as alternative method for Inducting a Contractor Employee onto a Site. You will still need to download the SecurePass for Contractor Application if you wish to use the GEO FENCE sign in aspect.
- Note if your business has not submitted the required documents even if you have completed your induction. You will not be able to sign in.
